Many times when people are looking for a direction to follow, they ask for a sign. Signs are everywhere, hidden in plain sight as we cruise down the highway of life. As usual, I was looking for a sign, but had my head in the clouds and didn’t see what was right in front of me.
This morning I went in search of inspiration. Normally I don’t take my camera on my walks, but I’m glad I did this time. I looked up at the clouds above the mountain and saw the Number 7. Of course, I had to take a picture. What I didn’t see was the number 8 in the tree.
The Eight actually represents me. Numerically, I’m an 8. The Universe seemed to be using it as Significator in a cosmic reading.
Now, my numerology isn’t very strong, but according to Matthew Goodwin, the Seven is about being spiritual aware with a focus on self-analysis. Interesting! This reflects the way I read Tarot. I find it is more of a spiritual tool than a predictive tool. Mr. Goodwin also talks about solitude without isolation in the journey of the Seven.

As I continued to observe the sky, the seven transformed into something that looked like a sea monster, perhaps escaping from Loch Ness. Well, the Loch Ness Monster is a solitary creature, hidden from the world, yet occasionally it surfaces to face the world.

It is alone, but never truly alone in its underwater home, as seen by the fish chasing it. Is it a coincidence that today we leave Aquarius to enter Pisces? One last thought before I am off to ponder the significance of the Fish, the Monster, and the Seven.

In my mind, this scene corresponds to the Seven of Cups in the Waite-Smith deck and its “strange Chalices of Vision” where the Monster looks similar to the Dragon in the seventh cups. According to Arthur Edward Waite, this card encourages seeing things in the glass of contemplation.
