Today as I walked to the sacred space, this thought came to mind: L. V. X.- LUX or Light. The ritual that I was about to perform, the Rose Cross, uses this. But as I continued to the temple I created, my mind wandered.
What if the message was actually divined from Numerology? 50+5+10 = 11 an Angel Number! Of course, it could also be 50+10-5 = 55, another Angel Number.
The purpose in doing this ritual, for me at least, encompasses both numbers. When I do the Rose Cross Ritual, which clears the way for spiritual guidance, I also perform the Lesser Banishing Ritual to remove anything that blocks the path.
As I ponder the numerology, I realize that all of my information about angel numbers came from the now tarnished work of Doreen Virtue. I finished the ritual and after coming in from the field, I did a quick online search to compare the information that’s out there.
The Number 11 is associated with a spiritual awakening and intuition. This is based on the ages old numerology of the Number 2. I find this interesting because in Tarot, specifically the Thoth, 11 is the number of Lust (Strength) and the Two is number of the High Priestess, a card that corresponds with intuition. When I lay the cards, I feel that Lust has placed the Priestess on a pedestal.
Lust is “Strength exercised”, according to its creator Aleister Crowley. The Book of Thoth describes this card as a natural expression of love as opposed to the ways of societal norms. My interpretation of his description is that actions of Lust happen on an intuitive level, free of judgments, but not necessarily of consequences. It is the strength to act upon your intuition regardless of what may happen. Lust of Life, Lust of Love, Lust of Power, and Lust of Results all take a mental strength in order to bring that intuitive desire to manifestation especially when the Naysayers, including oneself, try to stop the process.
The Number 55, on the other hand, signals a major life change that brings a release from whatever may be holding you back. The numerology indicates that the Wheel (10) is about to turn and that you, as the Magician, have the power (1) to control the direction it takes.
When I lay these cards, the Magus becomes the upper star in the Wheel of Life. He is the one in control of movement of the wheel, backwards, forwards and standing still. . Of course, one can always fall off the Wheel, taking that step without regards to the consequences.
Life is always bringing changes both wanted and unwanted. The choices we make are the controls of the directions the wheel turns. When I give readings, I use a similar type of pathworking as a way to help clients make decisions. Left, Right, Forward, or Backward (standing still), no matter what one chooses, it is a still a choice.
